The Global Citizen Project comes to Tegucigalpa
Building a Future fans suggested that Charyn Pfeuffer visit Building a Future as part of the Global Citizen Project, and then you all turned out to vote for BAF. Thanks to you, Charyn is now in Tegucigalpa for the first segment of her year-long travels. Follow along and check out her thoughts at her Global Citizen Project blog.
March 2010 Trip to Honduras
BAF has a annual trip to Honduras along with Texas A&M University students from AMC (Aggie Mens Club). This year the trip was held from March 14-21 and we are happy to report it was successful! We built a home for a family of 4 and we had the opportunity to interact with children from orphanages and support centers managed by Jorge Mahomar. Thank you to all who donated and supported Building a Future in this journey and for contributing to the Soccer for Bare Feet campaign. We gave out over 75 soccer balls and over 100 T-shirts to deserving children.
Join Building A Future (BAF) in our initiative to collect 100 new and used tennis shoes and soccer balls for children in Honduras! We are currently preparing for our upcoming March 14-21 volunteer trip to Honduras. BAF and a group of Texas A&M Students will be building houses, distributing food & clothing, and hosting activities for children in Tegucigalpa, the capital city of Honduras.
As a component of the trip we would like to host a day of activities (including a soccer game) on March 18th, and would like to donate 100 tennis shoes and soccer balls to orphans and vulnerable children from some of the poorest communities in Tegucigalpa. We want you to be a part of an initiative that will bring smiles to children’s faces and provide positive opportunities for growth and interactivity.
