March 2011 Paper Crafts and Activities Trip PARTICIPATE | ACTIVITIES | DONATE » During the week of March 12-19, 2011 Building a Future volunteers will lead a series of paper craft projects and educational activities for the children who attend our family support center in Honduras. We will also be handing out school kits to encourage them to stay in school. Help us give these underprivileged children in Honduras the tools they need to keep learning, creating, and having fun! BAF Crafts & Activities: Materials Needed
Paper Storage Box
Description/Emphasis Teach children how to repurpose materials to create a functional storage box. Hand-made paper boxes could be used for storage at school or home. Age Group 5+ Materials
Stitched Folders Description/Emphasis Teach children how to make their own school materials. Cardboard paper folders will be cut in different sizes depending on child's need and include a hand-stitched pocket. Age Group 6+ Materials
Description/Emphasis Teach children about origami and how to make an expandable star. Age Group 7+ Materials
Paper Plate Tambourines
Hand Stamp PaintingDescription/Emphasis Teach children how to create a hand-made musical instrument for play and sing-alongs. Music will be part of this activity. Age Group 5+ Materials
Description/Emphasis Teach children how to use paint to make an imprint with their own hands. Age Group 3+ Materials
Books (coloring books and reading books) are an important part of the educational reinforcement children receive at our family support center. Age Group 3+ Materials
Team building activities encourage children at the family support center to share, participate, and have fun together. Age Group 3+ Materials
The appointed teacher at the center Lidia Rovira and BAF volunteers need some basic tools to carry out the craft projects and activities. Materials
